Date: Tuesday, January 26, 2021
Time: 5–8 p.m.
Location: Online
Description: The Rutgers Environmental Steward program is designed to introduce non-scientists to the science behind important environmental issues affecting NJ. Stewards then give back to their own communities by helping to tackle local environmental problems. If you have a passion for the environment, a desire to learn and a willingness to volunteer, then this program is for you!

In 2021 we are excited to offer one, statewide, online class! Current university guidelines restricts all in-person activity due to COVID-19 but our hope is to have some field sessions in the spring if these restrictions are lifted. In order to become a Certified Environmental Steward, participants must complete a 60-hour internship of their choosing. The internship exposes the Stewards to real-world environmental issues in their communities.

Classes meet every Tuesday from 1/26/201 to 6/1/2021. Classes will convene virtually as a group from 5-7pm with a content expert who will cover that week's topic. From 7-8pm, classes will break out into regions for the last hour to cover local issues and meet with their coordinator for further discussion and activities.
