Description:

Living Shoreline And Beach Nourishment <br /> Superstorm Sandy both affirmed the effectiveness of beaches and dunes at protecting oceanfront communities and highlighted the need for new techniques for restoring New Jersey’s long neglected interior shorelines. In the decade since Sandy, New Jersey has expanded its nourishment efforts along the oceanfront and has begun incorporating living shorelines along its interior shorelines. Join Dr. Miller, Research Associate Professor at Stevens, and the New Jersey Sea Grant Coastal Processes Specialist, as he reviews the progress made over the past decade along both coasts and offers a perspective on how the lessons of the past can inform projects of the future.
