2023 Master Gardener Association Howard Bodner Memorial Scholarship

The Master Gardeners of Monmouth County are offering merit-based scholarships, minimum award
of $1,000, to graduating high school seniors or current college students.
The qualifications are:
*Must be a resident of Monmouth County;
*Must be accepted to matriculate at a college or university for the Fall 2023 semester;
*Planning to major in Horticulture, Environmental Sciences, Plant Biology/Botany, Environmental
Planning and Design or related Agricultural fields;
*Have demonstrated interest in the areas of their intended college major through classwork,
employment, community service, and/or extra-curricular activities.
*Previous winners are ineligible;
We are not asking the student to demonstrate financial need or to submit financial information. We
are asking that applicants apply online using the link on the enclosed flyer. Applicants will be required
to submit a high school or college transcript, a letter of recommendation and their personal essay.
Applications must be received by April 17, 2023 and winners will be notified by May 11, 2023.
Scholarships will be presented at the June meeting of the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Monmouth
County in Freehold.
