Description:
Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) Program will present four Kids Cooking Club sessions in 2025. Each class, for children 8 to 12 years of age, will focus on one of the four main food groups: grain, fruit, protein, and dairy. All sessions will be held from 4pm to 6pm at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, CMCH, NJ 08210.
The first Kids Cooking Club of 2025 takes place on Wednesday, January 29 and will focus on the Grain Food Group. Children who participate will learn about the food group and why eating whole grains are important. Also, the students will make delicious recipes with foods from around the world using grains.
The instructors of the Kids Cooking Club are Chris Zellers, MPP, FCHS Educator/Assistant Professor and Anneliese Kuemmerle, MS, RDN, Program Associate II, Cape May County.
Additional sessions will be held on March 19, October 8, and December 10, 2025. The cost to attend each session is $10. Space is limited; therefore, advanced registration is required by January 15 for the January Kids Cooking Club. Please register at https://go.rutgers.edu/kv0lawno.
